Joe Portugal Novels
Today
I finished reading
Cactus Club Killings, by
Nathan Walpow. It's the first in a series of murder mysteries featuring
amateur sleuth Joe Portugal. It was a very enjoyable read. In fact, I couldn't
put it down. Nathan has a great sense of humor, and it comes through in every
page. If you like succulents, you'll love this book.
I just ordered the next two in the Joe Portugal series (Death of an Orchid Lover and One Last Hit. The fourth in the series is scheduled for next year. I'm really looking forward to One Last Hit -- the main character rediscovers the guitar and has a "musical renaissance."
It took me three days to become a Walpow fan. He's one author that I'd really like to meet (him and Nicholson Baker, of course).
