Microsoft Usability Labs
I've known about Microsoft's usability labs for a long time, but I didn't realize they had a Usability Research Web site.
Enroll via our on-line form to be eligible to participate in usability research sessions, site visits, focus groups and product evaluations.
They don't pay you, but you may get a gift.
Apparently, the usability labs were closed down when they were developing the Help system for Office 2003.

Michael Jackson's Hideout?
According to rumors, Michael Jackson is hiding out in a huge mansion in La Jolla, California (see story).
They say he beds down at billionaire Ron Burkle's 26,000-square-foot place in La Jolla, which sits on a cliff that juts out over the beach about 100 feet below -- a spit of land surrounded on three sides by water.
I took some photos of that mansion a few months ago. You can see them here and here.

Timothy Leary's Jailbreak
From The Adventures of Bloggard: Timothy Leary's Jailbreak. I don't know if it's true, but it's a great story.
