Ugly Corvette
Welcome to the Hall of the World's Ugliest Corvette.
This is -- used to be -- a 1985 Corvette. The owner, who calls himself "Buckeye", says: "Women love this car. Every time I stop for gas, women come up to me. I could have as many girlfriends as I want -- old ones, fat ones, anything. They're all over me."

World's Most Expensive Cocktail
If you want to go out for a night of drinking -- and money is no object -- you're best bet is the World Bar, in the Trump Tower. See: Trump World Tower charges $50 for its concoction - $64 with tax and tip.
And Grossich says the drink is worth the price, because its ingredients are costly. A 750-milliliter bottle of Remy XO, for example, sells for $109 at the Wine Underground in Baltimore. Veuve Clicquot typically costs $38.99 a bottle, and a 750-milliliter bottle of Pineau des Charentes retails for $15.49. For competitive reasons, Grossich declines to divulge the exact amounts of each used in the drink. But he emphasizes the full experience of buying "the World's Most Expensive Cocktail" and points to wealthy celebs who have tried it.

Pamn's Best Photo
About six months ago, I mentioned that I bought Pamn a digital camera for her birthday -- a tiny little Pentax Optio S. Since then, she's become quite the photographer, and she seems to have a natural talent.
Here's one she took on Saturday, of her grandson coming down a "tube" slide (click for a larger view).
I'm impressed. Pretty amazing for a $400 point-and-shoot camera, eh? Just think what she could do if she took the time to actually read the manual.
You can see more of her photos here.

New Bush Tape?
From the Disassociated Press: New purported Bush tape raises fear of new attacks.
A tape
today surfaced in US media outlets of someone purporting to be George W Bush at
a US military base in Baghdad.
Intelligence analysts around the world are studying the videotapes. "It certainly looked and sounded like him, but we get so few glimpses at Bush in real-life situations that it is hard to tell," said one operative from a Western intelligence agency.
People who know Bush said it appeared to him. "That's him, all right," said one longtime associate.
The tape shows the man claiming to be Bush praising US attacks in Iraq. "We will stay until the job is done," he threatened.

Fake Hair
I had no idea that celebrities designed wigs. For example, here's the Raquel Welch Collection. Or maybe you'd prefer a wig designed by Eva Gabor. Unfortunately, the Dolly Parton collection has been canceled.
If you don't want a full-on wig, Headcovers Unlimited lets you choose from a large selection of Hats With Hair.
Here, we showcase hairpieces that can be used inside any of our hats to create a "hat with hair."
Ingenious! But what happens when you take your hat off? I assume the hair comes with it.
And for the
men...
Here's a nice selection of hairpieces you can order online. Shown here is the PJ Toupee Hair Piece by Jon Renau. Jeez, even the photo looks fake. I would expect a lot more in a $172.99 hairpiece.
If you decide to order, take note:
Due to Jon Renau's strict return policy, please note that all sales are final on Jon Renau wig products. We have discounted our prices drastically to reflect this restrictive policy.

London Photos
Here's an interesting blog that I just discovered: London Photos, by Kim Gilmour.
This weblog is the place for London photos; odd observations in the capital during the drizzle and snow, SX-70 Polaroid fun, little bits of London and UK life and even occasional vegetarian recipes!
More of Kim's photos are at Photos By Kim G.

9-11 And Money
At FoldMoney.com, learn how to fold money to see scenes from the 9-11 terrorist attack.
You can fold U.S. paper dollars and see the Twin Towers on fire, The Pentagon, you can even find Osama if you fold the bill correctly. Could this be a sign that nobody has seen? Or maybe its just a coincidence.
I'll go with the coincidence theory.

Women In Aviation
Here's an interesting site: Women in Aviation History.
Since the Wright Brothers took flight in 1903, women have made a significant contribution to aviation. The following is just a small sampling of the contributions women have made to the field of aviation.
The photo below is not from the site. It's a photo of my grandmother ("Nana"). About 25 years ago, I made a copy of the original photo and printed an 8x10. A few days ago, I took a shot of the 8x10 with my digital camera, and this is the result. Since it's a copy of a copy of a faded old photo, it's not a very good image. But you can click the image for a larger view.
I have no idea when it was taken. I don't even remember talking to her about her flying experience. But, clearly, she must have been among the first women pilots.

Nigerian Scams
From BBC News: Nigeria to tackle internet fraud.
Nigeria is to launch an inquiry into internet fraud and will examine the existing laws covering the problem. The "419" swindle - named after the penal code that outlaws it - will be targeted in particular.
Interestingly, this announcement comes only a few weeks after the 3rd Annual Nigerian Email Conference. Coincidence?
(Thanks Jeroen)

Penny Collector
Save your pennies, and you may become a news item. See: After 40 Years, Penny Collector Cashes In.
After four decades of pinching pennies, a million in all, A Mifflin County man decided that it was time to cash in his collection.
It took several months of bank visits to bring in 37 buckets of pennies to be cashed but by the end, Lynn Wagner ended up with $10,060.
