Unbrand America

Be on the lookout for the black spot.

In the coming months a black spot will pop up everywhere... on store windows and newspaper boxes, on gas pumps and supermarket shelves. Open a magazine or newspaper - it's there. It's on TV. It stains the logos and smears the nerve centers of the world's biggest corporations.

This is the mark of the people who don't approve of Bush's plan to control the world, who don't want countries "liberated" without UN backing, who can't stand anymore neo-con bravado shoved down their throats.

What's a swingbike?

A Swingbike has one distinct function that no ordinary bicycle has; it's swing arm below the seat which is attached like the handle bars to the frame. This enables it's rider to steer from the side and maneuver in ways that defy the laws of physics!!

This unit is intended to reduce any possible risk of the fixture being used as a suicide device.

Advertising Lows

From AdWeek: The Lowest Moments in Advertising.

You know the ads. They are the ones clearly intended to produce uproarious laughter but instead elicit a groundswell of groans. The ones meant to be poignant that are actually perturbing. The ones that make such audacious attempts at grasping for attention, they cross the line of decency and taste and, at times, truth in advertising. The ads that leave consumers screeching, "Make it stop!" and members of the agency community shaking their heads and asking, "What were they thinking?" The ones that, in hindsight, should never have been made.

Barbie dolls, as you probably haven't seen them.

If you have ever spent much time in a toy store or have been subjected to Barbies by children or The Antichrist, you may have noticed that they have "Barbie as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz" etc. There are many "Barbie as" dolls. I knew they would never make any cool ones, so I took it upon myself.

Shown here is the Medusa Barbie.

Weekend Pics

The temperature reached at least 105, but the humidity was low. Even better, we had lots of gentle breezes and a full moon. All in all, excellent weather and a great time in Borrego Springs. Once again, we stayed at Borrego Valley Inn.

A few photos (click to enlarge):
