The Political Compass
At the Political Compass, you answer a series of multiple choice questions, and see where you stand politically. The result is shown in a two-dimensional grid that has these axes: Left-Right, and Authoritarian-Libertarian.
Here's how I was pegged.

The site also shows where various political leaders fall within the grid.

Foiling Cinema Pirates
From CBS News: Foiling Cinema Pirates.
Hollywood sends enforcers with night-vision goggles into movie theaters and puts metal detectors outside advance screening rooms, but still the industry can't stop pirates from recording films and selling illegal copies before their theatrical debuts.
I just have one question: Who in the hell would want to watch a movie that was recorded on a hand-held video camera?

Welcome, UserFriendly Folks!
Today, my Wifi Speed Spray ad parody was named "Link of Day" at UserFriendly.org. As a result, this blog is getting lots of first-time visitors.
User Friendly is a daily tech-related cartoon by Illiad. I feature three of them at my Spreadsheet Jokes site. Yes, there really are cartoons that feature Excel.

Impaled Garden Gnomes
Of all the
web sites that feature photos of impaled garden gnomes, this site, called
Die Screaming With Sharp
Things in Your Head, is the best.
Mr GnomeMaker Says:
If you see a Garden Gnome,
pick it up and take it home.
Make sure it is really dead;
stick something sharp into its head.
See you next time, kiddies

That Honda Commercial
Several people have pointed out a new UK TV commercial from Honda. I didn't bother to take a look, until yesterday. Now I see what all the fuss is about. It is very good.
Amazingly, this ad was shot in real time (with no computer animation), and it took more than 600 attempts.

Rubbish Monkey
This guy has
an extensive collection of
hand-drawn monkeys that have been submitted others.
This collection of monkeys began as a slightly eccentric project in November 2001 as I collected drawings of monkeys from my friends in a little spiral bound notebook. It soon developed to include monkeys from most of my family and some more kindly drawn by strangers at the demands of a tipsy version of myself. I'd like to build a special collection of celebrity monkeys, particularly from minor celebrities like TV presenters.
