MSN Earns Good Housekeeping Seal
I've been known to
post links to humorous satirical articles. Although this
looks like a joke, it's for real.
Microsoft Corp. and Good Housekeeping magazine today announced that MSN 8 Internet software is now backed by the Good Housekeeping Seal. The Good Housekeeping Seal stands as the most recognized and trusted consumer insignia in the United States and has been granted to high-quality products for nearly 100 years. Today's announcement marks the first time an Internet software product has earned the Good Housekeeping Seal.
Notice that the seal guarantees "replacement or refund if defective." I guess that's why Windows hasn't earned this honor.

CD-Copying Clubs
<sarcasm>I am shocked and appalled that this sort of thing is happening in my home town.</sarcasm>
But I do agree with the final paragraph:
"The RIAA is a bloodsucking mechanism for big record companies," he said. "We're doing them a favor by giving exposure to this music."

Smart Watches From Microsoft
Smart
watches. What the world has been waiting for.
Smart wristwatches -- which display relevant, customized information broadcast across an innovative wide-area wireless network -- will be available in the fall of this year, Microsoft Chairman and Chief Software Architect Bill Gates announced yesterday at the 2003 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
Quite frankly, this watch is a lot more appealing to me. Or maybe they should make a watch out of this?

Wooden Peripherals
Check it out: A
wooden mouse, keyboard, and monitor.
Wood Contour offers a wide range and variety of hardwoods from which each device is constructed including cherry, mahogany, beech, oak, ash, and maple. Other woods are also available upon request. As every keyboard, mouse, and monitor is custom made from one solid piece of wood, every item displays the unique design of the natural wood. No two items are ever alike!

Bird Watching in the UK
The web site of this British ornithological society probably gets a lot more traffic than it should.
