Real Kwik-E-Marts?
Last week, Sheldon sent me an email:
There on rumors going around that 7-11 is going to change it's name and look to the simpsons Quickie Mart, with squishies and stuff. Have you heard anything?
I finally have an answer: Doh! 7-Eleven Gets Homered.
Though the deal hasn't officially closed, it looks like 7-Eleven may be acquired by Kwik-E-Martsorta.
In order to promote the upcoming "The Simpsons Movie," c-store giant 7-Eleven is in talks to refit 11 of their stores across the country to feature exteriors resembling the Kwik-E-Mart, the c-store of choice for The Simpson family and other characters on the widely popular show, according to The Daily Progress.
Along with the refitting, 7-Eleven is also in talks to carry several promotional products, including KrustyO's cereal, Buzz Cola and iced Squishees (the cup says Squishee, but the contents will be Slurpee). The chain also will use pictures of Simpsons characters to promote 7-Eleven's line of fresh foods, such as placing the face of Homer and his classic "Mmmm . . . sandwich" quip on sandwich wrappers, according to the Progress.
