Poe’s Law In Action
Oh brother, more religion and banjos. Today at the Banjo Hangout, someone posted a question in the "off-topic" forum: Online bible study course?
I still don't understand why some people are compelled to share their religion in a banjo forum. He could have asked that question is dozens of other online forums. But I guess he just wants everyone to know that he's accepted Jesus Christ as his savior. In any case, I couldn't resist. The BHO rules state that religion is OK, as long as it's not argumentative. So I posted a non-argumentative reply:
Good question! There are so many different bible versions that it becomes a difficult decision. I prefer the so-called "fundamentalist" approach, which states that the Bible is the actual word of God, and is inerrant.
My absolute favorite site for Bible information is Answers In Genesis. I visit that site at least once a week. Always something new! The blog, by Ken Ham, is also excellent.
My second favorite bible-related site is Benny Hinn Ministries. Benny, as you probably know, uses God to perform amazing healing.
Whichever bible you choose, I wish you good luck with your studies.
I figured that some BHO members would get the humor, and maybe add their own similar comment.
Ten minutes later, I had a "friends request":
I just read your post on the Bible study. I also bookmarked the link to answers in Genesis. Thanks for that. Ken Ham is one of my favorite speakers. I have a video series on creation by Mr. Ham that just can't be beat. I can get you the title if interested. Anyway, it would be an honor to add you to my friends list.
It's the first BHO friends request that I turned down.
