Link Experiment Results - Part II
Last week, I started an experiment that deals with link findability among blogs. I asked bloggers to link to create a link to particular item at this blog. My job was to identify all of those links. Using a variety of sources, I came up with 114 links that pointed to that particular blog entry.
I asked those who had unfound links to post their URL. The 10 bloggers who responded to this request are listed below (a few of the people who claimed to have a link to that particular item did not actually have an item-specific link, so they are not included).
- Dakegra
- Gumby's World of Organized Chaos
- Schuckers.org
- Snavely's Web Log
- Stuff On Fire
- The Love House
- Think For Yourself. Question Authority
- Thoughts of a Techie
- Tom's OPML Blog
- Top Fuel's House of Teriyaki Yardbird.
To summarize, at least 124 bloggers linked to my blog entry, and I identified 114 of them -- for a "find rate" of 92%. It's extremely likely, however, that other unfound links exist, and the blog owners simply haven't checked back to tell me. Therefore, my actual success rate is probably more like 85-90%.
In Part III, I'll described the sources I used.
