How To Add An Image To A Comment
Chris Spellman suggested that I describe how to post an image within a comment. Please don't hot-link to images that you find at other sites. If you don't have a place to host your own images, use the instructions below. It's easy and free.
- Have the photo ready to upload. For best results, keep it small. Please do not post huge images directly from your digital camera. You can quickly resize images using a program such as Irfanview.
- Go to TinyPic.com, a free image hosting service.
- Click the Browse button, and locate the image on your hard drive. Ignore the Tags field.
- If your image is very large, TinyPic can resize it for you (use the Resize drop-down).
- Click the UPLOAD NOW button (this will upload the file).
- After the image is uploaded, you'll see a new screen with text fields,
like this:

- Select all of the text in the Direct Link for Layouts field, and copy it (Ctrl+C)
- When you're typing your comment, paste the copied link (Ctrl+V) on a new line in the comment box.
- To prevent ridicule and embarrassment, it's a good idea to preview your comment to make sure it worked.
I'll add a link to this item in the FAQ, so you can easily find it again if you need it.
