How To Add An Image To A Comment

Chris Spellman suggested that I describe how to post an image within a comment.

Please don't hot-link to images that you find at other sites. If you don't have a place to host your own images, use the instructions below. It's easy and free.

1. Have the photo ready to upload. For best results, keep it small. Please do not post huge images directly from your digital camera. You can quickly resize images using a program such as Irfanview.
2. Go to TinyPic.com, a free image hosting service.
3. Click the Browse button, and locate the image on your hard drive. Ignore the Tags field.
4. If your image is very large, TinyPic can resize it for you (use the Resize drop-down).
5. Click the UPLOAD NOW button (this will upload the file).
6. After the image is uploaded, you'll see a new screen with text fields, like this:
   
   
7. Select all of the text in the Direct Link for Layouts field, and copy it (Ctrl+C)
8. When you're typing your comment, paste the copied link (Ctrl+V) on a new line in the comment box.
9. To prevent ridicule and embarrassment, it's a good idea to preview your comment to make sure it worked.
