Tone Matrix
(with comments)

This will go down in the annals of Web time-wasters: Tone Matrix.

Use your mouse to draw a looping musical pattern. When you're satisfied, right-click and choose Copy. Then leave a comment here and paste the code. For example, here's the code for the matrix shown above:

You can select these numbers, copy them, and then paste to the Tone Matrix grid (right-click to get the Paste command).

    This is crazy... I finally see a pattern. This is a diagonal from bottom left to top right.

    Try creating patterns in multiple browser tabs. Completely unpredictable, but it adds a new twist.

    This would be good for creating cell phone ring tones.

    I did some of that last night, and it was fun. Then, I set up a basic rhythm line I liked, and set it off looping, and then drew, and un-drew random stuff above it while it played. very fun. Need to try and record some of it somehow.
