   I couldn't believe your blog. It was almost my sentiments verbatim. She is perhaps more annoying than Greta, or any of the other headtrips out there in the egocentric world of Cable news.
   
   Are we sure she isn't an offensive lineman in drag.

   her voice IS SO annoying......that is why they hired her....i have heard many people complain about her annoying voice especially when she is asking questions....

   I can't believe I'm compelled to write these comments during thee most horrific natural disaster in our country's history, but after flipping through countless channels, I cannot listen to Rita Crosby. Her voice is so annoying, and I finally realized I do have other choices. Move on MSNBC.

   Have you heard this Rita interview people? Pitiful. "How did you feel after the hurricane hit"? What kind of question is this? After a gentleman told her that he hadn't heard from some family members, her next question was: "Have you heard from your family member since the hurrican left?" Rita is a very good example of a "talking head". No substance at all.

   Actually, her incredibly annoying voice is probably due not to smoking but to either vocal fatigue caused by improper technique or injury (like a bruise or hemorrhage on her vocal cord), or what's called a "bowed" vocal fold (i.e., cord)--one cord is bent or warped from weakness or congenital malformation so that the cords don't fully meet and produce a clear vibration. The fogginess is due to the pathology; but the artificially high pitch is probably deliberate, the result of ill-advised (or self-administered) therapy to mask or overcompensate for the rasp.
   
   I have no problem with her weight, though--'bout time there were more women in media who more closely resemble most of us. FWIW, she's probably no more than a size 14, which is dead-bang average or maybe even a size smaller than average for American women. We're conditioned to see skinny waifs on camera. And it's good to see a middle-aged woman on screen ( who is not glamorous,

   I don't care what you say. Rita Cosby is one of the sexiest dames on American television. I love that raspy voice.
   
   And just in case you think I am some kind of sicko, I think that Greta and Nancy are both ugly and terrible broadcasters.

    I happened onto this site when I did a search to see what the problem is with Rita's voice. Lo and behold other people are irritated by it as well!!! I don't care how she looks or her weight but it sounds so uncomfortable for her to talk and breath that it is uncomfortable to watch her. It's like she has to force her voice to come out. A man? I don't think so. Although I beleive that the reporter called Diane Deacon on KIDK from Idaho Falls IS a man. I have never heard such a bass voice ON a man let alone a women.

    I love Rita Cosby..the last thing we need are more talking head barbie dolls weighing nothing more than their shoe size. We need good investigative journalists, which Cosby is. Never saw her on Fox because I hate far-right idiots so I never knew what the buzz was about until now. Why is it ok for newsMEN to be a little less than perfect but the women have to be freakishly thin and air-brushed gorgeous?

    Nobody has mentioned that when the Supreme Court made their decision in the 2000 presidential election, when she got the paper in her hot little hand, she misunderstood the legalese and announced to the world that Al Gore was the winner in her affected nasal tone! She will not be missed by this Fox Fan! She is definitely overrated!

    I agree. I really thought that Rita Cosby must have/had lung cancer.Here voice is very scratchy and she heaves in when talking. i really thought she was going though treatment for cancer

    My Lord, what were they thinking, the ones who hired Rita Cosby? She is losing viewers for MSNBC by the droves. Unbelievably irritating voice and no substance at all in what she says. I don't really care how she looks but I turn her off as soon as I can hit the remote because of that awful forced voice and delivery. WHEW!!!!!
