   I think that the reason McCain became agreeable with Bush is because Bush threatened him with something. I like to think that once in power, McCain would seek retribution against the Bush regime.

   Bush is leaving such an incredible mess that McCain can't help but come off looking good if he inherits the kingdom - and he's certainly aware of that. But there's essentially no difference at all in the way McCain sees the world and the way Bush does; it's a place to conquer and convert, that's all.
   
   And the position of President means limitless power to McCain - a man whose aggression and temper and impatience are well known, even though he's making quite a show of being a kind old Grandpa type right now. He slipped yesterday, though, a little bit, just enough to keep his reputation intact.

   Unbelievable capture. But have you checked out the old guy's recent campaign ad? McCain isn't just Bush he's also Winston Churchill and Teddy Roosevelt. He's forgotten what war he's fighting. Scary stuff.
