Essential Luxuries
(with comments)
In these tough economic times, it's important to get your priorities
straight. Todd
Rome,
president of Blue Start Jets, lists his
Ten Essential Luxuries.
- Louis Vuitton Luggage
- Summer in the Hamptons
- The Dorchester Hotel, in London
- A Gulfstream IV private jet
- A classic British-made Alvis Convertible
- Ray-Ban Aviator sunglasses
- The Magic Cocktail resort at Musha Cay, Bahamas
- Peter Luger Steakhouse, in Brooklyn
- Polo Matches at the Bridgehampton Polo Club
- A Blue Star Jets Hamptons-Heli Card
That list is not much different than mine. I'd skip the polo matches, though.

- By Small comforts.. Comment posted 04-Nov-2009 @06:50pm:He is clearly a "New world" traveler who likes the USA wherever he goes. Perfectly fine, but I recommend the Connaught Hotel for anyone visiting London. Head and shoulders above the rest. They are currently running a special offer of UKP 445 a night.
It makes civilized life possible in these demanding times. - By Gee.... Comment posted 04-Nov-2009 @06:57pm:What, no fried bologna sandwiches?
- By . Comment posted 04-Nov-2009 @08:08pm:If The Dorchester and the Connaught are such great hotels, why do visiting royalty stay at Brown's?
- By Doug. Comment posted 04-Nov-2009 @09:46pm:LOL. #10 is self promotion... and the whole point of Todd's post.
- By . Comment posted 04-Nov-2009 @10:58pm:The best part of going to a polo match is stomping divots during halftime (or whatever it is called).
Just be certain you're stomping a divot, not horse crap. - By Doug. Comment posted 04-Nov-2009 @11:57pm:That's why Michelle doesn't walk Bo on the Whitehouse lawn. Her designer heels make too many divots.
- By Klaus. Comment posted 05-Nov-2009 @06:23am:I got the all. Except 2 - 10. But I once saw a Louis Vuitton bag.
- By Inti. Comment posted 05-Nov-2009 @12:00pm:Isn't "essential luxury" an oxymoron?
