It’s sad that schools anywhere would need shotguns for any reason.

These shotguns aren’t being purchased for schools, but for federal Department of Education stormtroopers.

Some schools acquire shotguns for their student shooting teams. There’s nothing sad about that.

Unless you know how to use google. In which case, you’d know it was attributed to Ben Franklin although it was really first said by Algernon Sydney. However, Aesop was a good guess. Unless you’ve ever read Aesop.

It’s sad that schools anywhere would need shotguns for any reason.  Beating each other up over it here only makes things crazier.  BTW, we don’t have guns in Australian schools, just lethal knife attacks.

Tom, Blue .. an interesting and funny link .. small point of order, though, from daily contact with them I’m fairly certain that the critter in that news picture is a wallaby.  Kangaroos are lankier, especially when young, and the white cheek patches are a dead giveaway.

While I haven’t closely followed all comments of Volt‘s alleged alter-egos recently, I have great difficulty attributing the grammatical errors, bunkum and crass-sentiments of some recent posts to the intellectual Volt of old.  Something smells !

BTW .. that dude in the picture is simply the next in line for a haircut .. heaven knows, he sure could use one !

True dat. However, since we’re interested in fairness in this thread, I don’t follow other sports either- it’s not just hockey that doesn’t hold my interest. I actually think I would like hockey if I watched it. I’ve been to two games in my life. I keep wanting to watch it on TV but keep forgetting.

Hence Don Coyote crowing about being the whupper, while Wombat declaiming any interest as the whuppee.

And I think the whupping term covers both the size of the victory, and the importance of the event.

Even if I were a fan of the sport, I wouldn’t see league professionals playing against each other under their respective national flags as anything other than a glorified Pro Bowl.
