Translate As You Type
(with comments)

Pick one or more languages and start typing. The translated text appears instantly: Nice Translator.

I have no idea how well it actually works.

    I need this for english.

    In Spanish

Yo leo el blog de J-Walk cada dia, porque es justo y balanceado.

In spanish the translation is almost correct, all the words
are there, the problem is that you need to put it correctly yourself.

It's fairly accurate in French, Spanish and English. I don't know about the other languages, but it translates the few Tagalog(filipino) words I know accurately.

    Filipino
    maraming salamat po.

    French
    merci beaucoup.
    Spanish
    muchas gracias.
    English
    many thanks.

    Dutch is utter nonsense:

lees ik de j-wandeling elke dag bloggen want het is eerlijk en evenwichtig

Oh... combining "j-walk blog" to "j-walkblog" does surprisingly well:

Ik lees de j-walkblog elke dag want het is eerlijk en evenwichtig

It's quite accurate in Dutch indeed, except for more complex grammar (passive tense seems to be difficult). It even handles 'inversions' well.

I regularly go to babelfish for assistance when writing ebay ads in French or German. Nicetranslator has the bonus that, upon seeing the result will be gibberish, you can simplify your 'original' language immediately.

    Added it to my favorites.

Wrong. I'm always dissin the religious. You're probably a Christian, so that's all you notice.

    Hi!

I am actually one of the developers of Nice Translator so I just wanted to drop by and say thanks for taking some time to discuss our project.

As a small sign of our appreciation, I've posted a link back to your site at Nice Translator - Thank You

Thanks again, I hope Nice Translator can be of some value to you all.

    All the best,
    Nicky Hajal

Gee, that was a nice thank you note. I'm bookmarking Nice Translator--especially knowing the Dutch is pretty good--but I'll probably just use it to make sense of Another Larry.

"leio a J-Walk Blog todos os dias porque ele é justo e equilibrado"

"It works very well in Portuguese." is translated to "It DOES NOT work very well in Portuguese." ("Não funciona muito bem em Português.") in Portuguese, I think it is a in-joke...

Machine translation is cute, but it's really worthless for anything but a hobbyist. I'm a Japanese-English translator, and that Japanese is complete gibberish.
