respectful I'll accept it by free... - By Howlin' Hobbit. Comment posted 09-May-2008 @07:10am:Being a busker and often mistaken for a beggar I'm usually less than thrilled with such things. I mutter "Get an act!"
So one day I'm walking home from a day of busking and there are two unrepentant (and no doubt unreconstructed) winos kicked back against a building. The one looks up at me and says, "Hey buddy! How about a quarter to help us get off the street and back in the gutter where we belong!"
It was a genuine LMAO moment. I gave them a dollar and the admonition that they were not to waste it on food or something. - By Mean Jean. Comment posted 09-May-2008 @07:37am:Once in St. Pete Beach, FL we stopped at a light where a guy usually stood on the median and tortured a guitar and caterwalled trying to squeeze a bit of cash out of folks going to Publix. This one day he was singing "give me money, yeah, that's what I want"...and so we did.
