Best Booze Song?
(with comments)
Another good suggestion from a reader. What's the best song that has some type of alcoholic beverage in the title?
Examples:
- One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer - John Lee Hooker
- Whiskey Before Breakfast - Lots of people
- How Much Tequila Did I Drink Last Night? - Steve Goodman
Note that we are not looking for songs about being drunk. The song title must have some kind of booze in the title.
Nominate as many songs as you like -- as long as the total is less than or equal to three.

"Cigarettes and Whiskey" - the version I have is Ramblin' Jack Elliot
Anything but "Margaritaville" - nice tune and I love Buffett, but isn't this like one of the most overplayed song, ever? - By Bisbonian. Comment posted 27-Feb-2011 @04:40pm:I couldn't find any video of the above, but here is a guy doing a very credible rendition of Cider, by Bruce Molsky.

Unfortunately, you are right. Diamond's version was so lame, though, that he later started doing UB40's version. Bob Marley did a great one, too. - By kim. Comment posted 27-Feb-2011 @06:00pm:Jose Cuervo, You are a Friend of Mine- Shelly West

AWAY WITH RUM
We're coming, we're coming, our brave little band;
On the right side of temp'rance we now take our stand.
We don't use tobacco because we all think,
That the people who do so are likely to drink!
Chorus:
Away, away with rum, by gum,
With rum by gum; with rum by gum.
Away, away with rum by gum;
The song of the Salvation Army.
We never eat cookies because they have yeast;
And one little bite makes a man like a beast.
Oh, can you imagine a sadder disgrace
Than a man in the gutter with crumbs on his face?
We never eat fruitcake because it has rum,
And one little slice puts a man on the bum.
Oh can you imagine a sorrier sight
Than a man eating fruitcake until he gets tight?
The man who eats fruitcake leads a horrible life,
He's mean to his children and he beats up his wife.
The man who eats fruitcake dies a terrible death
With the odor of raisins and rum on his breath. - By Debra Dalgleish. Comment posted 27-Feb-2011 @06:14pm:Canadian Whiskey - Tom Russell & Nanci Griffith

Meg_Mac I like Run and Coca-Cola as well. I never really paid attention to the song until I heard the bit about "mother and daughter work'in for the yankee dollar".
